NEWS OF INTEREST

50/50 RAFFLE

Starting Monday we will be selling tickets for a monthly 50/50 raffle to help finance the bus to Quail Creek and the Sunshine meals for our members and their spouses.  Tickets will be sold at both putting sessions for $1 or 6 for $5.  The winning ticket will be drawn at the monthly luncheon.  We will be selling tickets every month until further notice.  The cost of the bus for our trip to Quail Creek has almost doubled since last year and we want to keep the cost of that event affordable for our members.

JUNE LUNCHEON-

Our next luncheon is Monday, June 9th.  Our menu is Chicken Salad on a croissant with fruit and carrot cake with ice cream for dessert.  The superintendent from the San Manuel School District will be our guest speaker and will share with us how our drive for school supplies helps his district.    The cost is $14.00 and checks are due by noon on Monday, June 2nd.

SCHOOL SUPPLY DRIVE

We are now starting our annual school supply drive.  Please see the Green What's New 2 page for a list of supplies.  You can bring them to Putters on Monday or make a donation by check made out to MVLP with school supplies on the memo line.  We will be collecting through the month of July.  School supplies usually go on sale during July at the various stores.

MEMBERSHIP CARDS -  Each member has a personal membership card that contains her name but also the important information of the MVLP email address,  MVLP Web Site address and the User Name and Password needed to get into the pass word protected Membership Pages of our site.  For those who haven't saved the User Names and Password it might be a good idea to put this membership Card right in the corner of you monitor so it is handy.  PLEASE SEE KATHY RAMBUR FOR YOUR CARD.

NEW  MEMBER  ORIENTATION: - Patty Green, our Vice President holds our New Member Orientations.  This is a very informational meeting that takes one hour or less. Any new member should contact Patty and arrange an orientation. New members, please remember you are not an official member until you have completed our New Member Orientation.

SUNSHINE COMMITTEE UPDATE:-

Please, let us know when any of our members need a little cheering up or support because of health problems or a death in the family.  We will send a card to that putter and in case of surgeries, etc. will send out meals from Eva Harris.  Please help us keep informed by contacting Judy Tatter,Sunshine Committee member, at 818-1519.

    REMINDERS:

PARKING PROBLEM - Since we have begun our two tee times we have had a parking problem.  Please be considerate.   Golf carts PLEASE park in the golf cart parking lot.   If it is full PLEASE double up and use the golf cart lines in the car lot and take one parking space for two carts. Golf carts in the cart lot can double park if you leave the key in the cart so the cart hemmed in can move your cart and get out.

SCORE CARDS - Please remember to put last names of everyone putting in your group on the score card.  We have many Judys and Sandys etc.  This is especially important when we have a new member or guest in the group.  Anyone who is a  guest should be noted.  Also, please remember to check the total of your score and initial the scorecard on the far right side edge after your score.

NAME TAGS - Many are again forgetting their name tags.  PLEASE try to remember to wear it!    We don't mind providing stick on temporary ones BUT it is getting expensive.  We don't want to have to reinstate the $.25 fine to pay for them.  Keeping track of the fine quarters is a lot of recording .  AGAIN, PLEASE try to remember your Name Tag.

     Club Dress Code:

To maintain a Country Club atmosphere, all Putters and guests must comply with the Pro Shop dress code This code does not allow blue jeans, denim apparel, tights, leggings, cut-offs, short-shorts, athletic shorts, halter tops, or tank tops.  Tops must have either a collar or sleeves, or both.  Non-compliance will result in a reprimand.  Wear golf shoes or soft-soled flat shoes.  No metal spikes or any type of heels.  Hats, water bottles and sunscreen are recommended.
